Bronwen Craven - Fine Art
biography

Biography

Born and raised in Cape Town in 1961 Bronwen Craven became an established artist in South Africa.

Having studied art at school she completed a BA (Hons) degree at the University of Cape Town majoring in Anthropology.

Almost exclusively painting to commission Bronwen was best known for her dog paintings and dog portraits but now spends as much time working on other domestic animals as well as horses, wildlife and most recently flowers.

Dogs are a natural subject for Bronwen as they’ve always been part of her life including her own dog in the shape of a much loved but sadly recently departed Manchester Terrier. Midge - a Jack Russell/Fox Terrier cross - is now keeping her very busy !

Horses too have always been part of Bronwen’s life with her father being South Africa’s pre-eminent Bloodstock Agent.

Her love both of art and the subject means that Bronwen brings to life her subjects and picks up the character and personality of each commission.

She moved to Britain in 1993.
